
Photographer and Director of Photography based in Kingston, Ontario. Since 2023, he has been teaching Video Production in the Music and Digital Media and Graphic Design programs at St. Lawrence College, while creating powerful visual imagery for businesses, events, and cultural projects.
With over 20 years of experience in photography and video, Fouad Bestandji brings his expertise for companies, institutions, and artists.
Passionate about cinema, he turned to visual arts in the late 1990s, which quickly led him to work on several film sets in Algeria.
In 2001, he founded the SIAN Association for Cinematic Culture, organizing film screenings, training workshops, and various cultural initiatives.
At the same time, he nurtured his growing passion for photography by launching his professional career in the early 2000s.
While continuing this path, he directed and contributed to numerous audiovisual productions, including corporate and documentary films, and his work has been featured in national and international media.
Moreover, his passion for visual art has led him to present several photography exhibitions in Algeria and Europe. He also contributed to a national photography competition as a professional photographer and jury member.
Driven by a strong desire to share his knowledge, he developed training programs in photography and audiovisual production, initially designed for training centers and NGOs, while also giving regular workshops and courses.
In addition, he co-founded a photography agency in 2015 that sponsored several image-related events, and in 2019, he founded a production company in Algiers, further solidifying his commitment to the visual arts and the seventh art.
